The week in numbers
- 2,190 lots offered, 448 more than the week before.
- Median guide £135,000, unchanged on the week before.
- 36% of lots with a guide were guided under £100,000, 781 lots.
- The two middle bands took 39% at £100,000 to under £250,000 and 16% at £250,000 to under £500,000.
- 203 lots were guided £500,000 or more, of which 66 were guided £1,000,000 or more.
This was a heavy week at the top as well as in volume. Wednesday 30 September carried 1,050 lots, with BTG Eddisons Property Auctions listing 314 and Savills 188 on the same day, and Tuesday 29 September added a further 584 behind Savills with 205 and Auction House with 145. The median held at £135,000 even as the catalogue grew, so the extra stock came in across the bands rather than at one end. The standout shift sits in the upper bands: 66 lots guided at £1,000,000 or more against 17 the week before, with Allsop’s Thursday sale of 153 lots supplying much of the weight.
